This was a marriage procession organised by Panchayat and villagers to punish this couple. As seen in the pictures, the girl was forced to sit on the floor and the boy made to ride her as if she was a ghori (female horse). They were humiliated, the girl kept weeping and all this happened in front of villagers. Family members of the couple were also present. But no one could dare to go against the will of the panchayat. This was just one aspect of their torture. The girl is a student of class XI, but the boy is a primary school dropout. They fell in love and decided to elope from the village a few days back. Their relatives managed to trace them. They were brought back to the village. A humiliating ceremony was organised and the couple was made to wear garlands made of cow-dung cakes.
